| July 5, 2002 | First off, I'd like to wish all Canadians a happy Canada Day, and all Americans a happy Independance Day! Now, a few smileys added to the Celebrities and Misc sections, including my new Neverhood smileys (!). Also, I would like to spread the word about a great program which allows you to store a list of your favourite smileys from all over the net, and bring them up and put them in an email or message at the touch of a button. | April 1, 2002 | Okay, as you've found out by now, my site has moved. I've fixed all of the image links and addressed, so things should work now. So remember: the site is now at http://community.the-underdogs.org/smiley/ now. While I'm fixing things, I'll probably add a few new smileys as well. Also, HOTS is 1 year old now (as of March 15th). This was a 1-year project, and I am therefore taking the site down now... APRIL FOOLS! Haha... I kill me. |
| February 10, 2002 | I've added about 30 new smileys. Also, I've introduced a new crediting system. You'll probably notice green numbers beside some smileys. Look in the Thanks/Credits page, and match up the number to see who has submitted that smiley. The red (V) symbol means it was made by me (Vanguard3000). Looking at the last update, I realise I may have left you hanging when I mentioned a surprise. If you don't know yet, that surprise was the exclusive Transmetropolitan gallery. (Hits = 33923) |

I've set up a contact page now, where you can subscribe to my newsletter thing, which will inform you of updates. There is also a surprise which will be revealed within the next few days - Muahaha-cough cough! Err... just wait and see... |
| December 6, 2001 | HUGE update today. I've added about 200 new smileys to the galleries, and more than 200 flags to the flag galleries. I've also added a new gallery, which is exclusive to HOTS. The Help page is new (it's actually helpful now), including an illustrated guide to using smileys in emails (I've had quite a few questions about this). The thanks page is updated as well. | May 7, 2001 | Huge update to the happy smileys page. I am in the process of overhauling the site so that it will be easier for me to sort the many smileys. If you are using a smiley as your 10X10 icon or other, please be sure to change it ASAP. The file will now be located in a subfolder with the same name as the web address. For instance, if your pic is from the angry smileys section(community.theunderdogs.org/smiley/angry.htm), the smiley will now be under community.theunderdogs.org/smiley/angry/X.gif. I will probably leave the flags in their original place, although I strongly suggest changing that as well(i.e. Canadian flag goes from community.theunderdogs.org/smiley/ca.gif to community.theunderdogs.org/smiley/flag/ca.gif). |

| April 15, 2001 | Happy Easter, everyone! Although I havn't been able to get any easter egg smileys or anything, I have got a new Santa Claus smiley, in the celebrity section. I've also added a few other smileys. I am currently testing out different types of "Scanners" to view picture transparency, including javascripts, and a simple background. What do you think? | April 7, 2001 | I have put up a new section today: Flags. Now you can put flags in your posts and as your small 10x10 pixel picture. I used Johns, and "optimized" them so that they take up much less space, without losing any quality. This, if people use it, will reduce loading times a fair bit. |

| April 1, 2001 | I had installed a hitometer onto the site yesterday, as you can probably see. So far it looks like many of you are using the site, with 12 hits overnight. I have also gone through all the smileys already on the site and optimized them by lowering the colour depth, and cropping out wasted space. This makes the smileys up to 1/5 their size, without losing any quality. Some also have less wasted space surrounding them, so they fit better in posts. Soon I will get to adding more smileys. |
| March 30, 2001 | Yesterday, the site moved to the Underdogs community. UD has been kind enough to host me, and provide links on the forum header. As homage, I am renaming the site to "Home of the Smileys". Also, I have recieved a nice little smiley made by J Doom 2012. Thanks very much, J Doom. |

I know this isn't much of a memorable first entry for the news page, but there's not really much to say. It's not very nice looking right now, and it may never be, but at least it's functional. |
